Make Belief Comix

For this project, I retold the origin of Batman.

I consider the blood splatter the crowning achievement of the whole thing.

Course Description Cover

As the title says.

Subway Art

So, I'm still in this Batman focus.

When I read that one of the themes for this assignment was "Winter", I immediately started thinking about Mr. Freeze.

Yep. Basically sums him up, right?

I used Death Cab for Cutie for this project.

Finding Interactive Labs

1.
a. Fire
b. http://illuminations.nctm.org/ActivityDetail.aspx?ID=143
c. Probability
d. You put in a probability statistic for a forest on a grid, and then set fire to trees. It’s basically testing the probability of a fire spreading each time a tree burns down. It will then tell you at the end how much of the forest burned.
e. I would recommend it because it’s really fun. It’s also a good indicator of what probability means for actual scenarios.
2. This had some fairly interesting ones, but they were too slow for me.
a. Aortic Aneurysm Surgery
b. http://www.edheads.org/activities/aortic/swf/index.htm
c. Human Anatomy
d. You basically go in and perform aortic aneurysm surgery on a guy. A lot of the prologue is spent talking about the heart, with some good background info on things like what a heart aneurysm is. It’s a simple step by step procedural.
e. It provides good tips and hands on experience. It’s also easy to do.
3. MOST OF THESE WERE BORING.
a. Fractured Fairy Tales
b. http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/fairytales/
c. Writing
d. It’s a little organizer for writing a story. The person is allowed to read a classic fairy tale, and then if they want to they can fill out all of the necessary elements of a “fractured” version of the story. Then, they write it out.
e. It’s a very simple organizer to use, and maps out the key details of a story. It also encourages people to find creative ways to reinvent old tales with a fresh perspective.

Time Travel

Granted, I didn't travel very far back because this is not an old comic, but here's me, sitting in a jury when Bruce Wayne has to tell the truth under oath.

Making a Blog

Okay, first blog page ever made. Ever. For school, no less.
